United Phosphorus Q2 net up 171.42 per cent

New Delhi, Oct 31: Agrochemicals major United Phosphorus Ltd today posted a 171.42 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 39.52 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2006, as compared to Rs 14.56 crore for the corresponding year last year.

The total income was up by 33.15 per cent to Rs 391.03 crore for the quarter from Rs 293.67 crore for Q2 FY 06.

The Group's profit after tax increased by 33.9 per cent at Rs 65.6 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, as against Rs 48.99 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005.

The Group's total income was up by 17.98 per cent to Rs 516.87 crore for the three-month period from Rs 438.09 for the corresponding period last year.
