Textile mill workers stage demo in Pondy

Puducherry, Oct 31 (UNI) The Puducherry Textile Mills Labour Union members today took out a processsion through the main thorough fares of the town and held a demonstration infront of the Legislative Assembly to press their demands.

They were demanding among other things the provision of employment to the wards of the mill workers who had obtained training in Swadeshi, Bharathi and AFT mills here.

Meanwhile, the Puducherry unit of the Dalit Panthers of India (DPI) today held a demonstration infront of the Head Post Office here demanding the provision of 25 kg rice, five litres of kerosene and Rs 2,000 in cash as rain relief to the affected people here.
