Surjewala hails MSPs for wheat, gram

Chandigarh, Oct 31 (UNI) All India Kisan Khet Mazdoor Congress Chairman S S Surjewala today hailed the Minimum Support Prices (MSPs) announced by the Centre for wheat and other agricultural commodities.

''It is a much awaited 'Diwali bonanza' for farmers of India, particularly in North-India,'' Mr Surjewala said in a statement here.

He said,'' UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi's commitment to the cause of farmers and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resolve to transform that commitment into reality are reflected in this decision to increase the MSP of various agricultural commodities, particularly wheat and gram.''
