Second case under domestic violence act registered in AP

Hyderabad, Oct 31 (UNI) The city police today registered a second case under the protection of women from domestic violence act 2005, against a tax consultant who has been harassing his wife.

Talking to newpersons here, Sub-Inspector of Police Rama Rao said Laxmirama committed suicide by hanging herself at her house this morning.

She was being harassed by her husband Nareshbabu and her in-laws since two years, for more dowry.

He said the police registered a case against Naresh and Laxmirama's in-laws under the Domestic Violence Act. The three persons were arrested and their interrogation was going on.

This was the second case registered against a person under the domestic violence act which came into effect from October 26.

The first case in the state was registered against Satish Kumar, Junior manager working in a corporate bank for harassing his wife Maheswari for more dowry in Warangal district on October 30.
