'Sankalp Diwas' in MP

Bhopal, Oct 31 (UNI) Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's 23rd death anniversary was observed as 'Sankalp Diwas' across Madhya Pradesh today.

At the main programme organised in the state capital's Barkatullah Bhavan, state Finance Minister Raghavji garlanded Ms Gandhi's portrait and made the citizens undertake a resolve for the country's unity, integrity and harmony. Representatives of different religions gave messages of non-violence, brotherhood and love.

All India Congress Committee General Secretary and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh and party workers garlanded Ms Gandhi's statue at GAD crossing.

At the state Congress office, the party's Madhya Pradesh unit President Subhash Yadav led others in paying tributes. ''According foremost priority to communal harmony will be our true tribute to Indiraji,'' he felt.
