Raymond Q2 net spurts 284 pc

Mumbai, Oct 31 (UNI) Raymond has posted a net profit of Rs 141.47 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 36.83 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005, a quantum jump of 284 per cent.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income (net of excise) has increased from Rs 372.79 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005 to Rs 374.59 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006.

Commenting on the results, Mr Gautam Hari Singhania, Chairman and Managing Director, of the Company said: ''The Company would maintain its growth momentum through continued thrust on its existing businesses and expansion of its business portfolio through strategic alliances with leading international players.''
