Punjab thrash Himachal Pradesh by an innings
Patiala, Oct 31 (UNI) Punjab thrashed Himachal Pradesh by an innings and 163 runs on the concluding day in the North Zone Inter-State Col C K Nayadu (Under-22) Trophy at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium here.
Resuming on overnight 60 for six wickets, Himachal Pradesh were all out for 114 in the morning session. Saurav Rattan scored 52 in style and Paras Dogra reached the double figure mark with 22. The rest of the batsmen could not withstand the strong Punjab pace and spin attack.
Amanpreet captured three for 36 and Hardevinder Singh also took three wickets, giving away 40 runs, while Varun Khanna and Karanveer Singh took two wickets each, giving away 27 and 8 runs respectively.
Punjab earned five points, while Himachal Pradesh got refurned without any point. Punjab will now play the runners up of the South Zone on November 27, 28 and 29.
