People not ready for Koderma by-poll:Cong

Ranchi, Oct 31 (UNI) The Congress party today claimed the people of Koderma would not accept any one, who was responsible for this unexpected by-poll, saying the voters were not yet ready.

Party's state general secretary and AICC member Shailesh Kumar Sinha said here that few political forces had made this by-election as their a prestige issue and were considering it as a litmus test for them.

Mr Sinha said the history of the Koderma Parliamentary seat says that voters have often favoured candidates from national political parties adding this would be repeated this time also.

Claiming the victory of UPA candidate Manoj Kumar Yadav, Mr Sinha said the other candidates were no where in the fray.

There are total 14 candidates in the fray including Pranav Verma, son of late Reetlal Verma, who had represented Koderma five times as MP, from BJP and former Jharkhand chief minister Babulal Marandi as an Independent candidate.

The Koderma parliamentary seat is lying vacant after former BJP leader Babulal Marandi resigned from the Lok Sabha in May this year.
