Parliamentarians remember Sardar Patel on birth anniversary

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today paid tributes to the Sardar Vallabhai Patel on his 131 birth anniversary in the Central hall of Parliament House.

Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani, Union Ministers Shivraj Patil, Sharad Pawar Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi were among the host of other dignitaries who remembered Sardar Patel.

The portrait of Sardar Patel was unveiled by late President Rajendra Prasad in the Central Hall of Parliament on April 23, 1958 in recognition of the services rendered by Patel, said a Lok Sabha release issued here.
