New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) The opposition BJP today lambasted the Sheila Dikshit led Delhi government on the sealing issue holding its responsible for plight of traders and common people.

Speaking on the resumed discussion on the opposition-sponsored no-confidence motion against the state government, BJP Delhi Pradesh President Harsh Vardhan said the Government should resign immediately and pave the way for fresh elections as it had completely failed in discharging its responsibilities.

''The State Government should resign immediately and pave the way for fresh elections so that the traders and the general public of the capital may get rid of the eight years of misrule of the Congress and hellish life in the capital,''Dr Harshvardhan said.

Dismissing Congress claims of support to the Delhi bandh by traders, Dr Harsh vardhan said,''it is a strange drama that on the one hand the Congress is announcing its support for the three day Delhi Bandh of the traders and on the other hand it inflicts injuries on the traders by lathi-charging the demonstration and using water cannon on the traders. Not a single Congress leader is seen on the site of incident.'' ''The support given by the Congress to the Delhi Bandh itself proves that the Party does not trust its own Government. This Government has no housing policy, industry-trade policy, employment policy, rehabilitation policy, education, health and labour policy.

The girl students, women, senior citizens and children of Delhi are not safe. The High Court and the Supreme Court are fed up with reprimanding the anti-people Government so many times,''he said.

He said that thanks to the policies of the Congress, the sword of sealing today hangs over educational institutions, chemist shops and even medical institutions.

Mr Narendra Nath of the Congress, however, dismissed the charges of the BJP.

''Government is making all possible efforts to save people from sealing,''he said and urged the Chief Minister to ensure that the traders falling under the negative list be also given some relief from sealing.

He also favoured putting the Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Act, 2006 in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution.
