New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Defence Minister A K Antony today inaugurated the special blood donation drive by the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and described it as a timely action in view of the blood requirements faced by the patients of Dengue and Chikungunia in the country.

''Other sections of society should emulate this noble voluntary act of NCC cadets,'' he said.

The Minister went around the blood donation camp and spoke to some NCC Cadets and Officers who were donating blood.

He also spoke to some of the officials and cadets in other parts of the country, who had assembled to donate blood.

The NCC's week-long drive is being organised in more than 170 centres across the country, where more than 15,000 NCC cadets (both boys and girls) and officials will donate blood.
