Music for Peace in NE

Aizawl, Oct 31 (UNI) Music lovers of Mizoram are going to host 'North East India Beat Contest' on November 2 and 3 here after a decade.

Talking to mediapersons here today, organising committee chairman P Lianhrima said, ''Preparations are on for this big musical event among the seven sisters of the NE, which is funded by North Eastern Council.'' He said three bands and three soloists, from each of the NE states, would participate at the two-day music festival under the banner of ''Music for Peace in the Northeast.'' ''Due to shortage of funds, we cannot afford professional musicians from across the country to attend as judges,'' Mr Lianhrime further added.
