Minister opens 'Regional Saras 2006'

Hyderabad, Oct 31 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Rural Development Minister D Srinivas today inaugurated 'Regional Saras 2006', an exhibition of rural Self Help Groups' (SHGs) products in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the state government had allocated Rs 25 crore to organise and promote the products manufactured by the SHGs in the state.

He said the exhibition organised jointly by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Departments would boost the sales of handicrafts and food products in urban areas.

Stating the government was committed to promote the products of SHGs at national level, the Minister called upon the SHGs to participate in the exhibitions organised by the government and improve the brand image of their products.
