MILMA to have its plant at Palakkad
Palakkad, Oct 31 (UNI) Kerala Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Limited (MILMA) Chairman P T Gopalakurup today said MILMA's second milk plant will start functioning here shortly.
Addressing a press conference, he said Kerala Chief Minister V S Acthuthanandan would inaugurate the modernised 300 metric tonne cattle feed factory at Malampuzha on Novermber three.
The first phase of development programme was conducted in eight southern districts with the help of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).
Mr Gopalakurup said the production of cattlefeed, which was 4500 metric tonne in 1991, had now risen to 1.20 lakh metric tonne.
He also said MILMA's procurement strength now stood at 11.7 lakh litre.
The Centre had sanctioned Rs 39.73 crore for the second phase of development of dairy sector in Kerala for the next five years.
