Maoists posters trigger panic in Western Orissa town
Sambalpur, Oct 31 (UNI) Notwithstanding security arrangements and deployment of Rapid Aaction Force (RAF), the Maoists have sneaked into the security zones of the city and pasted posters and distributed leaflets.
The posters were pasted and the leaflets distributed at all sensitive places including railway stations and Mahanadi club recently when the district level officers were busy in gearing up security arrangement for the visit of Orissa Governor Rameswar Thakur.
The posters and leaflets reflected the motive of the Maoists, who have decided to take revenge on the killings of their cadres at Deogarh on two different occasions.
Interestingly, the Maoists did all these activities at a place close to the residence and office of the DIG, Collector, the Superintendent of Police and a CRPF camp.
Sambalpur Superintendent of police Devdatta Singh admitted that the Maoists have secretly pasted the posters and distributed the leaflets in the town.
He however, claimed that the police were always ready to counter any attack from the left-wing ultras and urged the people not to be panicked saying that such secrets activities were being carried out by the cowards afraid of police.
Mr Singh said it seemed the intention of the Maoists was to create some sort of sensation among the people in the town.
