Low Pressure forms over Southwest, West Central Bay
Chennai, Oct 31 (UNI) A day after the cyclonic storm ''Ogni'' over the West Central Bay crossed the Andhra coast, a fresh trough of low pressure area has formed over the Southwest and the adjoining West-Central Bay today, promising more rains.
Weather office sources told UNI here that under its influence rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places, with isolated heavy rains over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry during the next 48 hours.
Chennai city would experience a few spell of showers, with heavy spells at times.
Yesterday the storm, while crossing the Andhra Coast between Ongole and Bapatla had weakened into a depression and weakened further.
Meanwhile, Chennai city and suburbs which received a respite from battering rains for the last two days, experienced incessant rains late last night and this morning.
The rains that lasted nearly one hour this morning, aggravated the problems of the office-goers, who were already motoring their way through knee-deep water.
