KIIT signs MoU with Pensylvania State University
Bhubaneswar, Oct 31 (UNI) With a view to promoting development of academic, scientific and technical relation, the The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)- Deemed University today signed a MoU with the Pennsylvania State University, York Campus.
KIIT Chancellor Dr A Samant and Pensylvania State University Chancellor Dr Joel M Rodney signed the MoU inpresence of Oorissa Higher Education Minister Samir Dey and other senior officials of the state government.
Both leading institutions as per the MoU would now share their knowledge in the field of engineering, information science and management education, undergraduate plus 2 Degree Programme, Scientific Research, Professional Development and Technical Cooperation.
The MoU would open vast scope for cooperation for credit transfer, twin certification in Information Science and Technology, while several joint collaborative programmes would be extended for the benefit of the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences, the KIIT -run residential tribal higher secondary school As per the MoU students from KIIT after completion of 2 years of curriculum could opt for completion of remaining course in Penn State York leading to a Bachelor of Science degree.
This apart under the exchange programme, professors, staff members, specialists, technicians of both organizations would visit each other's organisations with access to their libraries, academic labs and resource development, KIIT sources said.
KIIT Chancellor A Samant said the MoU would create scope for Orissa students in general and those of KIIT Deemed University students in particular to enter into world class American University without much hassle.
Dr Rodney said his University would also explore the possibility of opening course curriculum in the field of Engineering, Master in Business Administration and Mining in Orissa. Dr Rodney had also expressed his desire to adopt five children from the school to take higher studies in the United States.
