Kalam receives pankha of Phool Walon Ki Sair

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam received the 'pankha' of the Phool Walon ki Sair organised by Anjuman Saire Gul Faroza at Rashtrapati Bhavan this evening.

Receiving the panka, the President said the festival of Anjuman Saire Gul Faroza has been unique as it gave connectivity to people.

Dr Kalam said India's core competence has been in providing leadership to a billion democratic people who had different languages and religions. He appreciated the movement started by the Anjuman in 1812 which was cherished by the people.

The President said he would send flowers to the dargah of Khwaja Bakhti Kaaki and the Yog Maya temple at Mehrauli here where the festival was based.
