Judge adjourns Saddam's genocide trial until Nov. 7
BAGHDAD, Oct 31 (Reuters) A judge trying Saddam Hussein for genocide against ethnic Kurds adjourned proceedings for a week today until November. 7.
Saddam is due to hear a verdict and a possible death sentence in a separate trial, for crimes against humanity involving Shi'ites, on November. 5.
But the chief prosecutor has said Sunday's session may be delayed, pushing it till after the November. 7 US congressional elections. Saddam, 69, could be hanged if convicted.
