Chandigarh, Oct 31 (UNI) The opposition Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in Haryana has decided to approach President A P J Abdul Kalam to get the Haryana government's deal with the Reliance for a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) cancelled.

Talking to reporters here today, INLD supremo Om Prakash Chautala said he would lead a party delegation that would meet the President tomorrow to oppose the deal which allegedly favoured the RIL by providing them the precious land acquired from the farmers at a cheap price.

The INLD delegation, he said, would submit a memorandum to Dr Kalam with signatures of 2.5 lakh workers and the people in this regard.

He alleged that the Hooda government had also changed conditions of an agreement signed with the Reliance Energy Limited (REL) with regard to the Yamunanagar thermal Power plant to favour the company, which would incur the state exchequer a loss of Rs 400 crore.

The party would also draw the attention of the President towards the alleged failure of the Hooda government on all fronts, Mr Chautala said.

The Hooda government, he said, failed to provide adequate power and drinking water to the people of Haryana. The law and order situation in the state has also deteriorated, he added.

The new policies of the Congress government with regard to labour, industry and excise have all miserably failed and there has been no development works during the past 20 months, he alleged.
