Indian commits suicide after killing wife, daughter
Dubai, Oct 31 (UNI) Tragedy struck an Indian family when the husband reportedly killed his wife and daughter and jumped out of the tenth floor apartment in what police described as suicide.
Kumar Acharya Vasudeva, 35, hailing from Mumbai, apparently used the pillow to smother his Goan wife, Lynette, 30, and daughter, Sheryl, before jumping out of the window yesterday.
Neighbours said they had never heard or seen the family quarrelling, and at Acharya's office he was fondly remembered as a dedicated employee.
He was given promotion last month as a reward for his excellent service with the Baskin Robbins, the company that he served for the past 13 years.
Police said the bodies of the mother and child were lying on their bed, and the baby was found smothered with a pillow and the woman strangled with a rope.
The couple used to go to work together after leaving their daughter with a babysitter, neighbours said.
Kumar's brother and sister-in-law, living in another part of Sharjah were inconsolable.
The tragedy comes just a week after a grisly accident when an Indian family of four - husband, wife and two children - perished when their car caught fire after a collision leaving them charred beyond recognition.
