India dismisses Kasuri's statement on Siachen

New Delhi, Oct 31: India today dismissed Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri's assertion that the two countries were closer to an agreement on Siachen and said the terms of an agreement (between the two countries) were well known to Islamabad.

''The terms on which an agreement can be reached (on Siachen), are well known to Pakistan,'' External Affairs Ministry spokesman Navtej Sarna said in response to a question.

Pakistan Foreign Minister had said that India and Pakistan were close to an agreement on Siachen.

Asked about the agenda of the Foreign Secretary-level talks between the two countries, scheduled to be held here from November 13-15, the spokesman said this would be an occasion to have an overall view of the situation.

To another question whether at the Foreign Secretary-level talks India would share with Pakistan the evidence of ISI involvement in the 7/11 Mumbai Bomb Blasts in which at least 180 people were killed, the spokesman said India had said it had the evidence and it would be shared with Pakistan.

He, however, did not say whether the evidence would be shared at the Foreign Secretary-level talks.

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee had said after taking charge that Indian law enforcement agencies had the evidence which would be shared with Pakistan.
