Chennai, Oct 31 (UNI) Madras High Court today turned down a plea from S Nalini, a life convict in the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case, to grant visa to her daughter Megara to come to India from Sri Lanka.

Ms Justice Prabha Sridevan closed the petition filed by Ms Nalini on the basis of the fax message from Union External Affairs Ministry mentioning its inability to comply with the request of the petitioner.

The fax message was submitted before the court by Assistant Solicitor General P Wilson.

Ms Nalini was originally awarded death sentence in the assassination case. It was later commuted to life following the intervention of AICC President Sonia Gandhi.
