Guj Congress organises mammoth rally on Sardar's birth anniv
Anand, Oct 31 (UNI) Hundreds of Gujarat Congress workers gathered at Karamsad, known as 'karma bhoomi' of Sardar Vallabhai Patel, on his 131st birth anniversary and took an oath to fight the BJP-ruled government in the state.
The workers came as part of a scooters' rally from all parts of the state.
They also lit lamps and took the pledge to take on the BJP and expose its ''fascist'' agenda through awareness programmes.
Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Bharatsinh Solanki led the party cadre to take on the oath. He said the party plans to boost its membership with a drive from November 14. Kiosks would be set up at railway stations and airports across the state for the purpose.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Dinsha Patel lamented that Sardar Patel has been not been given his due place in history books.
