Global Network for Indian businessmen abroad

Singapore, Oct 31 (UNI) Businessmen of Indian origin have formed a Global Indian Business Network to promote cross border trade and investment, tapping business expertise of India-based corporations, it was announced here today.

The network, to operate out of Singapore, has been formed by founding members from Australia, Qatar, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mauritius, the Philippines, the US and Singapore.

''We will work to connect Indian businesses across the globe and India,'' says Mr George Abraham, the first Chairman of the Network, formed last night after the two-day Global Indian Business Summit which concludes here today.

The Network has received enthusiastic support and will be working on increasing the number of members to expand business scope and potential, he said.

In addition, a website is being planned for the network which aims to link Indian business across the world especially banking on the strength of 20 million Indian diaspora.

Mr Abraham singled out the US-based Indian community's high potential of expanding businesses.

The Americans of Indian origin were already rated as the third largest Asian group in the US, noted Mr Abraham, the Sinapore-based stalwart of Indian business.
