Four killed as Chalukya Express rams into auto

Bangalore, Oct 31 (UNI) Four people were killed when the Mumbai-bound Yeshwantpur-Dadar Chalukya Express rammed into an auto-rickshaw at an unmanned level crossing near Araluguppe near Tiptur in Tumkur district, today.

Police sources said the incident occurred at about 0945 hrs when the auto driver attempted to cross the railway line despite the train fast approaching.

While three people were killed on the spot, an injured succumbed to injuries at the Tiptur General Hospital, the sources said.

Following the incident, railway services in the section were disrupted for some time, the sources added.
