Former US President Carter visits tsunami-hit TN village
Chennai, Oct 31: Former US President Mr Jimmy Carter arrived here today by a special aircraft from New Delhi, on a day's visit to Tamil Nadu.
After a brief halt at the airport here, Mr Carter left for the tsunami-hit Anumanthaikuppam Village in Villupuram District of Tamil Nadu by road, official sources said.
Mr Carter handed over 12 houses to the fishermen there and held discussions with the affected families in the village,.
Anumanthaikuppam, the sources said.
After completing his engagements there, Mr Carter drove back to the airport to leave for Thailand by a special aircraft, the sources added.
