Fire in Shatabdi near Kurukshetra delays train

Kurukshetra, Oct 31 (UNI) A fire broke out in a bogie of New Delhi-Chandigarh Shatabdi Express near here causing a slight delay in its schedule this morning.

The fire broke out in the C-4 bogie of the train as it neared the Kurukshetra station and the train running staff attempted to put out the flames.

The railway authorities rushed to the train as it reached the platform to help extinguish the fire, which was soon brought under control.

No one was injured in the incident and the train was signalled to move towards Ambala cantt after about ten minutes' delay, said the station master, Kurukshetra.

The extent of damage to the bogie and the cause of the fire were yet to be ascertained, he said.
