EIH profit after tax up by 100 per cent

Kolkata, Oct 31 (UNI) The Board of Director of EIH Limited, a member of the Oberoi group, today approved the six monthly financial results ending September 30 and showed over 30 per cent growth in total income.

Though the first half-year was not the best profit for the Indian Hotel Industry due to its seasonal nature, the company had been able to increase both occupancy levels it its hotels as well as the revenue per room by over 34 per cent, company sources there today said.

It said the total income increased from Rs 316.27 crore to Rs 411.44 crore recording 30 poer cent increase.

The operation profit at Rs 131.93 crore recorded an increase of over 56 per cent compared to the corresponding six month period in the pprevious year, the sources said adding the profit before tax and extraordinary income increased to Rs 66.00 crore from Rs 29.91 crore during the corresponding period in the previous was recording an iincrease of over 120 per cent.

The profit after tax at Rs 52.14 crore represents an increase of 108 per cent as compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. The earning per share (EPs) was Rs 1.33 as agains Re 0.64 in the corresponding period in the previous year, the sources said.
