Bokaro, Oct 30 (UNI) CPI MP Bhuneshwar Mehta has said the Jharkhand government was in touch with the Union government to get Damodar Valley Corporation's (DVC) heqadquarters in the state.
He told reporters last evening that shifting of DVC headquarters from West Bengal was necessary for development of Jharkhand.
Mr Mehta said that maximum DVC projects were being operated with using local resources but the corporation's head office located in other state.
Referring to recent appointmens in the DVC, Mr Mehta said about 103 employees were recruited in the corporation but no one belonged to Jharkhand.
Mr Mehta blamed that state government was responsible for this situation and stressed the need to bring change in government policies.
He said resources of the state were being exploited by industrial houses but economical status of people here remained the same due to lack a proper government policy for the people.
