DSIIDC raises over Rs 133 cr through Bawana sites auction
New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has received Rs 133 crore bids for properties ranging from 1,000 sq mts to 8,000 sq mts at 15 sites in Bawana Industrial Commercial Complex, averaging Rs 60,000 per sq mt of a price bid.
The bid for the largest plot measuring 20 acres went for Rs 263 crore.
These commercial properties are the first set of properties which were put to auction in the Bawana Industrial Complex and include the shopping center in the known cost effective housing complex, Rajiv Gandhi Awas Yojana, for which DSIIDC won the National Award recently.
The company expects that the commercial complex would go a long way in populating the Bawana Industrial Complex.
''Sealing and scarcity of land in the capital are among the factors leading to high auction of land. The land we expected at a cost of Rs 2 crore is being auctioned at Rs 6 crore,'' DSIIDC Managing Director Jalaj Shrivastav said.
In addition, initiatives to improve the commuting facilities, with the plans of introducing metro in the NCRs. DSIIDC anticipates a major development in Bawana industrial area by 2008, Mr Shrivastav added.
Over 600 applications were received for the auction and over 400 bidders participated in the event.
