Digvijay criticises attack on Uma's motorcade
Bhopal, Oct 31 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti Founder-President and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti today received support from unexpected quarters when her strong opponent and Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh condemned the attack on the motorcade of the leader at Serora village in Chhatarpur district during polling yesterday.
Talking to reporters at the Vidhan Sabha premises, Mr Singh said arrangements were not made to provide Ms Bharti adequate security, despite her statement three days back that she faced threat to her life.
However, he felt, that being a 'sanyasin', Ms Bharti should not have behaved in the manner in which she did.
''Still, I strongly condemn the steps taken by the administration in Bada Malehra,'' he said.
Criticising the statement made by Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi regarding Ms Bharti, he demanded Mr Vishnoi's resignation and said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan must take necessary steps in this regard.
Regarding murder of BJP MLA Kishorilal Verma in Khandwa, he said prevalence of commission in government contracts led to his murder.
A relative of a cabinet minister was murdered earlier because of the same reason.
He called for an end to the tendency of providing of commission in government contracts.
