Davanagere District Admn., failed to implement NREGS

Davanagere, Oct 31 (UNI) Karnataka Minister for Sugar S A Ravindranath today alleged that the District Administration has failed in proper implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) in the District.

Speaking after inaugurating public contact programme at Mayakonda, about 30 km from here, Mr Ravindranath, who is also District Incharge Minister, said that only in Davanagere taluk some works were taken up under the scheme, but in other parts of the District no works were taken up.

Mr Ravindranath also alleged that the Administration has failed to take up relief works in the drought affected areas.

The Minister warned the officials that action would be initiated against the erring and corrupt officials.

He appealed to the Farmers not to commit suicide for simple reason.
