Dabur Q2 net at Rs 68.81 crore

New Delhi, Oct 31: Dabur India Ltd today clocked net profit of Rs 68.81 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2006, whereas the same was at Rs 52.05 crore for the corresponding period last year.

The company's total income stood at Rs 444.57 crore for the quarter, while the same was at Rs 332.94 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2005.

The company said consequent to merger of its three subsidiaries --Balsara Home Products Ltd, Balsara Hygiene Products Ltd and Besta Cosmetics Ltd -- the figures are not comparable with figures of the previous period.

The Board of Directors of the company recommended an interim dividend of 100 per cent at Re 1 per equity share having face value of Re 1 each for the Financial Year 2006-07.

Further the company informed that the board also proposed issue of one bonus share for every two equity shares held by the shareholders of the company.

The Group posted a net profit after minority interest of Rs 78.65 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2006, where as the same was at Rs 64.41 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2005.

Its total income was at Rs 574.40 crore for the quarter, which was at Rs 471.31 crore during the three-month period ended September 30, 2005.
