Court notice to producer-director Prakash Jha

Patna, Oct 31 (UNI) Patna High Court today issued notice to film producer-director Prakash Jha in connection with the allotment of several acres of land to him by Bihar government.

Hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition filed by chief spokesman of Congress party, Bihar unit, Prem Chandra Mishra, a division bench comprising Justice Aftab Alam and Justice Samrendra Pratap Singh issued the show cause notice to Mr Jha asking him to reply by November 15 as to why the land allotment order of the government should not be quashed.

Earlier counsel of the petitioner informed the court that the government allotted several acres of land to Mr Jha without inviting tenders which was in contravention with established rules and regulations.
