Commuters set bus on fire after accident
New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Angry commuters today set on fire a bus which met with an accident while overtaking another at ITO in Central Delhi this evening.
The accident took place near Shakarpur police chowki, just after the Yamuna bridge at 1930 hrs, when two Blue Line buses brushed each other while trying to overtake, said sources.
This led to sparking and a minor fire erupted in one of the buses, running on Route No 85 (Punjabi Bagh to Anand Vihar), after which the buses further hit each other a few metres ahead.
By then people had lost their patience and set one of the buses on fire which was, however, doused within ten minutes.
The Fire Brigade said no one was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, sensing trouble drivers of both the buses fled from the scene.
No arrests were made till reports last came in.
