Chandgigarh, Oct 31 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) and Chandigarh Vikas Manch today announced electoral alliance against the Congress in the forthcoming Municipal Corporation polls in the Union Territory.

Leaders of these three parties will again sit together on November 3 to reach an agreement on seat sharing, BJP national Legal and Legislative Business Cell Convenor Satya Pal Jain, SAD (Badal) General Secretary Kanwaljit Singh and Chandigarh Vikas Manch President Harmohan Dhawan said at a joint press conference here.

The elections to the 26-member Municipal Corporation are due in December.

They said they have formed the alliance to defeat the Congress which had ''failed'' to fulfill promises made in its manifesto.

Capt Kanwaljit Singh said there were no differences within the three parties on the issue of their alliance for the corporation elections.

Mr Jain said all non-Congress forces will be consolidated to avoid any vote splitting in order to liberate the people of Chandigarh from the ''corrupt misrule'' of the Congress(I)-led Municipal Corporation.

He said the electoral alliance will be the starting point of a formal relationship between the BJP and Chandigarh Vikas Manch led by former Union Minister Harmohan Dhawan.

Formalities for members of the Vikas Manch formally joining the BJP will be finalized after the municipal corporation elections, he added.
