BJP alone can ensure Telangana state: Datattreya

Hyderabad, Oct 31: Only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which had facilitated the formation of three new states can ensure a separate Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh, Party National Secretary B Datattreya asserted today.

Speaking at a function here, Mr Datattreya urged the people to reject the ruling Congress as also its estranged ally Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) for allegedly cheating the people on the issue and imposing ''unnecessary'' bye-election on the Karimnagar people.

It was the BJP which had created the three new states of Uttaranchal, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh and again adopted a resolution at its national executive for providing statehood to Telangana.

BJP Official Spokesman Prakash Javdekar would kick off the party's massive yatra from November two to 15 by party candidate and former union minister of state for home Ch Vidyasagar Rao for the bypoll, he informed.

A 1,000-motorcycle rally would be undertaken from tomorrow to reach out to the people in every hamlet in the Karimnagar Lok Sabha Constituency and ''expose'' the Congress as also the TRS and remind the people that only the BJP could realise statehood for Telangana, he added.
