Annual Microfinance Conf concludes

New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) The third annual Microfinance Conference concluded here today with Union Minister for Panchayati Raj Mani Shankar Aiyar lauding the achievements of Microfinance in India in terms of the development of the under privileged community.

"This is amazing in terms of the achievements of the Microfinance in India and we are committed to push for the development of the 'under privileged community', he observed addressing the valedictory ceremony.

During the two-day conference, key economic issues like credit policies, housing finance and disaster preparedness were discussed.

It was pointed out at the conference that many important initiatives had been taken in the Microfinance sector with banking sector playing a major role in it. Microfinance in India had reached a stage where different sponsors and different institutions were adopting various methods.

The conference acted as a platform for various organisations to interface with each other and to share each other's experience.
