Itanagar, Oct 31 (UNI) The Arunachal Chambers of Commerce and Industry(ACCI) has expressed concern over the non-availability of currency of lower denominations in the state, which has posed a serious problem to the trading community.

ACCI general secretary Tarak Nachung Tariang informed here today that had a series of meeting with assistant general managers of State Bank of India, including its chief regional manager here the chamber on September 14 and apprised the problems faced by the traders due to non-availability of Rs 50, Rs 20 and Rs 10 currency notes besides Rs 5, Rs 2 and Rs 1 coins.

''Though the authority had assured us to make available all the lower denominations currency, but till today only denominations of Rs 1000, Rs 500 and Rs 100 are available with the bank'', he informed adding that the traders of the state had to depend on neighbouring states for such currency by paying extra money.

While urging the SBI authority to give clarification on the matter within seven days, the ACCI further cautioned that if the authority failed to provide lower denominations currency to the traders and businessmen, the Chamber would resort to non-cooperation movement with the financial institutions, Mr. Nachung added.
