Bihar: 1 Anne Marg notified as CM residence

Patna ,Oct 31: One, Anne Marg, the symbol power centre of Bihar for more than two decades, where Lalu-Rabri duo lived for more than 15 years and now Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is its occupant, has formally been notified as official residence of Bihar chief minister.

The notification was issued by the building construction department ending the controversy over the status of this high profile official bunglow, which was in the news due to reluctance of ex-Chief Minister Rabri Devi to vacate it citing different reasons following the debacle of RJD in the last asssembly elections.

Building construction minister Monazir Hassan said, ''Bihar had no house earmarked for the CM even though Chief Ministers had been living in the house since long. So the state government decided to earmark this house as the CM residence''. ''No house other than the Raj Bhawan is earmarked here. The assembly speaker and legislative council Chairman house are still conventionally used he added.

After the formal notification, 1 Anne marg will become the CM house and its produce will be the property of the state government, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said adding he had ordered for growing different herbal plants on the campus.
