Wish coming true for gravely ill boy, thanks to Hyd police
Hyderabad, Oct 30 (UNI) Eight-year-old Mahak Kothari, bravely battling a life-threatening illness, will get his wish of becoming a police officer for a day fulfilled tomorrow.
Like the child who wanted to visit the zoo and another who desired to be a pilot for a day, Mahak's dream is coming true thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, with the help of the Hyderabad police.
The Foundation's Hyderabad Division approached Director General of Police Swaranjit Sen with a request that Mahek could experience the life of a police officer for a day. He immediately responded and entrusted Inspector General Tejdeep Kaur Menon with the organisation.
With further help from Srinivas R Maddipati, Circle Inspector of Jubilee Hills police station, Mahak will play policeman tomorrow, acording to a press release from the DGP's office.
Make-A-Wish Foundation of India works to bring hope to little children with grave illnesses by making their dearest wishes come true. Doctors say the joy of interaction with a Make-A-Wish volunteer and fulfilment of the actual wish cannot be matched.
Whether it is something simple like getting a child a mechanised toy or complex like organising a meeting with a celebrity, the Foundation puts its best foot forward, irrespective of caste, creed, or economic status of the child. The foundation's Hyderabad Division formed in January 2004 has till date fulfilled 610 wishes.
