Vidarbha beat UP, MP stun Railways
Indore, Oct 30 (UNI) Vidarbha defeated Uttar Pradesh by two wickets in an under-19 Vinoo Mankad one-day cricket league match here today while in another encounter, hosts Madhya Pradesh derailed the Railways by eight wickets.
Wielding the willow first, Uttar Pradesh scored 142/8 in the allotted 50 overs.
Eklavya Dwivedi contributed 43 while Srikant Wagh scalped 3 batsmen for Vidarbha. In reply, Vidarbha made 146 in 43.2 overs for eight wickets, thereby earning four points.
In the other match, Madhya Pradesh bundled out the Railwaymen in 30.3 overs with the scoreboard reading a paltry 76 runs. Gaurav Tiwari scored 34 while Mayank Jagdale and Amarjit Singh took 3 wickets each, Rohan Shrivastava scalped 2 and Asif Ali claimed 1.
Madhya Pradesh reached the target of 77 in 23.4 overs losing only 2 wickets and earned 5 points including 1 bonus. Madhav Saxena made 42 runs for the hosts.
