Uma's vehicle stoned in MP village
Chhatarpur, MP, Oct 30 (UNI) Bharatiya Jan Shakti Founder-President and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti's vehicle was stoned and halted by a mob in Malehra assembly constituency's Serora village following a clash between BJP and BJS workers during polling for today's byelection.
The Collector, Superintendent of Police and other senior officials rushed to the spot.
As per details obtained from Bhagwan Police Station, Serora-resident Shankar Pratap Singh alias Halke Raja -- a senior BJP worker -- was allegedly assaulted by BJS workers. Irate villagers targeted Ms Bharti's vehicle after she arrived at Serora along with her security detail.
Police personnel were rushed to the village and the situation is under control. Ms Bharti is still at Serora.
