Students ransack police station following seizure of blue film roll
Mangaldoi, Oct 30 (UNI) Police had to resort to blank firing to disperse students of a high school after they ransacked the Dhula police station in Darrang district of Asom today.
About 200 students of the Dhula High School had gheraoed the police station, demanding that police hand over the television set and CD player, seized from the school premises last night.
Police informed that the seizure was made when some students of class X of the school were watching blue films in the school premises.
Six students were also picked up and later released.
The protesting students today ransacked the police station and also injured a few policemen.
Altogether seven rounds were fired in the air, though none was injured, police said.
The DC and DIG also visited the area later and the situation was said to be under control, police added.
