Seven countries to contest King's Cup in Thailand
BANGKOK, Oct 30 (Reuters) The four co-hosts of the 2007 Asian Cup are among seven countries that will play in the King's Cup tournament in Bangkok in December, Thailand's soccer chief said today.
Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia will be joined by Kazakhstan, Singapore and Myanmar in the Thai capital for the contest to be held December 20-30, Worawi Makudi, secretary-general of the Football Association of Thailand, told Reuters.
Thailand will field two teams in the tournament, which will act as a prelude to the ASEAN Football Federation Cup it is due to host with Singapore from January 12 to February 3.
The Kingdom will co-host the Asian Cup with Indonesia, Vietnam and Malaysia from July 7-29.
