Mulayam govt misusing machinery in UP civic polls: BJP

Lucknow, Oct 30 (UNI) The BJP's Uttar Pradesh BJP today charged the Mulayam Singh Yadav regime with misusing the government machinery during the ongoing urban local body polls in the state.

Party spokesperson Hridya Narain Dixit alleged here that now the State Election Commission (SEC) was also working at the behest of the ruling Samajwadi Party.

He maintained SEC was in no mood to entertain the complaints of rigging made by the BJP, while on the other hand, the Commission was taking unilateral decision in favour of the ruling dispensation.

Citing an example, the BJP leader claimed the SEC amended its directive of repolling in all the booths, which had polled over 85 per cent votes by including district magistrates recommmendation for the same after pressure from the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, a BJP delegation led by Mr Dixit, met state election commissioner Aparmita Prasad Singh to lodge a protest.
