MCorpGlobal to pump in Rs 500cr for expansion
New Delhi, Oct 30 (UNI) MCorpGlobal Management Group, owner of the lifestyle mall Spice World in Noida, today said it will invest Rs 500 crore to set up 24 multiplexes and entertainment centers in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal by 2009.
''With our valuable expertise garnered in the entertainment sector, we now want to work towards providing improved lifestyle and leisure options to the people of UP and Uttaranchal,'' Spice World Chairman Mahesh Prasad said.
He added that the multiplexes and entertainment centers would be created through restructuring existing cinemas as well as by creating brand new multiplexes.
The proposed lifestyle centers covering 24 cities will offer multiplexes having the latest xenon and digital viewing experience, Dolby sound and will house India's first 4-D Arcade - Spice 4D.
The projects will develop around 12,000 cinema seats along with 4D Arcade, Food Courts and various entertainment options. Additional cinema seats would be added looking at the local demand in the future.
Locations identified for the first phase of the projects include Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Muzzaffar Nagar, Allahabad, Aligarh, Bareilly, Moradabad, Gorakhpur, Hapur, Saharanpur, Modinagar, Mathura, Rampur, Jhansi, Rae Bareilly, Meerut/ Modipuram in UP.
Dehra Dun, Roorkee, Rudrapur and Hardwar are among the locations identified in Uttaranchal.
