Makhanlal Chaturvedi University of Journalism convocation

Bhopal, Oct 30 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jakhar today called upon budding journalists to work with a spirit of dedication, fearlessness and commitment for upholding great values left behind by those who made a mark in journalism and India's struggle for freedom.

''Through their writings, the journalists in the pre-independence era awakened the masses and altered the course of history eventually leading to the mass upsurge that forced the rulers to quit,'' he said while addressing the first convocation of the Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication here today as Chief Guest, a release said.

Among those present was state Assembly Speaker Ishwar Das Rohani.

Honorary DLitt, PhD, special medals and masters degrees were presented to several eminent persons and passouts, the release added.
