Launch of INDIRAMMA phase 2 programme in Jan '07: YSR
Hyderabad, Oct 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the second phase of INDIRAMMA scheme would be launched from January 2007, aiming to provide all basic amenities in 8,000 villages.
In an open letter to the people on the occasion of golden jubilee celebrations of State Formation Day being organised on November one, Dr Reddy said 10.26 lakh houses were constructed under the INDIRAMMA scheme during this year as against the target of 20 lakh houses.
The remaining houses would be constructed in the second phase.
He said that Rajiv Pallebata and Rajiv Nagarabata would also be organised in 2007 to solve the problems of people.
Stating that the government would also distribute one lakh acres of land to the poor under the land distribution programme, Dr Reddy said free power would also be supplied to the farmers who were cultivating their lands under lift irrigation scheme at the cost of Rs 1000 crore in future.
Dr Reddy said the Congress Government was committed to make the state as Haritandra Pradesh by completing all pending irrigation projects and taking up new projects under 'Jalayagnam' programme.
